Boatdate 26052020
Location: Chancellors Wharf, Lancaster
A long and hot cruise yesterday from Capernwray Arm to Lancaster where we moored opposite Chancellors Wharf. As still in partial lockdown this journey involved bunny hopping between bike and car a few times to avoid use of public transport, which, on a bank holiday, is pretty non existent anyway. That's the first decent work out the boat has had since lockdown began and it feels good to be moving once more although we are still stuck on the Lanky until the Ribble Link opens again.

Boatdate: 25052020
Location: Lune Aquaduct
Weather: Scorchio
Fuel Status: 3/4 ish
Water Status: Empty
Toilet Status: Been
Voltage: 12.5
Heading into Lancaster to get water. The plan was to do it earlier but the wild winds over the weekend made that a very bad idea.
The aqueduct repair works took exactly 200 days from Nov 4 2019 to May 22 2020. During that time boat moving has been restricted to the 8+ miles between the aqueduct and the Tewitfield terminus and for the last little while no movement allowed at all. It does feel good to be able to give the engine a decent workout at long last.
The question now is when will the network open up for normal boating operations. Who knows?

Unlockdown
Boatdate: 16052020
Name: Still Pandemic 91
Location: Capernwray Arm of Lancaster Canal
Heading: That way ~~~~~~>
Weather: Sunny
Virus Status: Still Free (as far as I know)
Fuel Status: 3/4
Water Status:Wet
Toilet Status: Filling nicely
Bilge Status:Cleaner than usual
Voltage: 12.3v falling to 11.8v on load
Partial lift of lockdown means we can cruise short distances. Instead I spend the day being a bilge rat and come out covered in gunk. I will not be allowed abed till all the oily skid marks are removed from pretty well everywhere. Hey ho. Also the batteries needed charging, the fuel tank topping up and various other bits and bobs. If the aqueduct opens next weekend as scheduled we may well take Pan across for her first taste of freedom in quite a while. Meanwhile I took the canoe up the cut and chatted to the ducklings on the far side of this field.
